AMAZING REVIEW FROM A LOCAL B&B OWNER!!!
    

IFI COULD GIVE TEN STARS I WOULD!!! I wrote this review in June 2016 for a guide we hired in Positano based on his reviews... we never knew he would become family! This week - when Italy opened and my girls returned to Italy from the USA for the first time in a year and a half... we had to go see our good friend Tony in Positano... If you want to see Positano and The Amalfi Coast thru a locals eyes - Positano Tonytaxi is the perfect guide for you! “We thought we booked a tour guide with a car… How wrong we were! We arrived as clients and left as family. I had reached out to Tony about 6 months before our trip after reading glowing reviews on Trip Advisor about Tony and his services. We exchanged dozens and dozens of emails as our one day excursion turned into 4 days with Tony picking up my husband and I in Rome and returning us to Naples at the end of our time in his Magical City of Positano and The Amalfi Coast. We arrived in Rome to be greeted by the warmest face and biggest smile with hugs and kisses as if we were his long lost family from America. I, with my binder and excel spreadsheet in hand - of all the activities I wanted to do and list of places I wanted to see and Tony with his “Do you TRUST ME?” - “Let’s Go…” - “ Let’s stop for a Coffee & Cake” - “Wait… Wait… It’s coming… AND WELCOME TO MY HOME… POS-I-TAAHHH-NOOO…” We saw and did everything on my list and so MUCH MORE! Tony is just MAGICAL, he has boundless energy, he is fun, charming, & extremely professional. The word “NO” is not in his vocabulary. During the hours and days we spent together we became family. Tony talks about his travels, his family, his house, cooking, Italy, his broccoli tree, wine, history, politics, food, lemons, gardening and LET’S NOT FORGET – EVERY FACT ABOUT HIS 6000 YEAR OLD HOMETOWN – POISITANO! His magnetic personality will draw you in and keep you focused on what he is saying and his stories as he smoothly with surgical precision navigates the miles and miles of white knuckled twists and turns and curves of The Amalfi Coast. This man started out in our lives as a signature line “ Positantotonytaxi” and he will forever be in our hearts; I know that this friendship that was planted in Positano will continue to grow for a lifetime. And If I ever need reminding I will look at my garden of 3rd and 4th generation seeds from his family of Basil & Tomatoes & Zucchini and know just how special he is trusting me with a part of his Italian legacy. Best Taxi and Guide in Amalfi Coast.
    

We were picked up at the airport by Tony to go to Positano. During our trip he already shared very valuable tips about what to do and places to go. Tony knows many people in and everything about Positano - he was 24/7 available for recommendations, even making reservations in restaurants for us. On top of that Tony is a very friendly and helpful person, while owning a taxi company he is more a guide ensuring you will have an unforgettable experience in Positano & surroundings. A fantastic company and service - highly recommended. We used the company for a transfer from Naples airport to the Amalfi coast, a day tour of Vesuvius/Pompei and then an evening transfer from dinner in Positano back to near Amalfi. The company is responsive to emails and punctual for pick ups (our flight arrived half an hour earlier than expected, and the company was still able to send a driver so we weren’t kept waiting). We were lucky enough to be driven by Tony himself, who is far more than simply a driver and probably typically doesn’t do much driving as he’s probably usually running the business - he has a huge wealth of knowledge on the region, knows everyone (!), has excellent recommendations and tips, genuinely seeks to provide the best service possible, and goes above and beyond to keep his clients happy. Tony was also great company and we had great conversations with him. Tony’s company also arranged a 2 hour private guide for us in Pompeii. The guide, Ciro, was first class. He was very knowledgable, spoke excellent English (and French and Spanish) and struck the right balance with the information he gave us. The choice of an excellent guide arranged through Tony’s company is testament to Tony’s company seeking to give their clients the best experience possible. Highly recommend using Tony’s taxis for both transfers and also tours.
